Many years ago, long before I bought my first Tesla, I calculated, not horsepower or acceleration figures. I was focused on one brutally honest number:
How many kilometers do I actually get per Swiss franc spent?
Everything had to go into that equation:
purchase price (or leasing costs), insurance, taxes, maintenance, tires, depreciation, parking, and all the other hidden expenses. The kilometers driven, on the other hand, are mercilessly objective — they simply show on the odometer.
It quickly became clear that a vehicle is most expensive per kilometer at the very beginning of its life. The high fixed costs weigh heavily on every single kilometer when mileage is still low. And that’s exactly where the big advantage of renting becomes obvious: you can drive down those expensive early kilometers much faster by putting on real distance — without carrying the financial risk of ownership.
This simple realization shaped me personally. Even before I started renting out Teslas myself, I switched from owner to renter for exactly this reason. I wanted to drive a lot, experience the technology intensively, and avoid being tied down financially in the long term. That experience became one of the founding ideas behind teslify.
We built the company with the clear goal of offering smart, flexible electric mobility. No rental company stickers on the cars, free delivery and collection anywhere in Switzerland, direct access to the Tesla app, and real 24/7 support. Whether for a few weeks, several months, or longer — our customers can drive a Tesla exactly when and for as long as it makes sense.
Many start with a shorter rental to truly feel whether electric driving is right for them. Others use our long-term rentals as an intelligent bridge — either before buying, as a flexible alternative to leasing, or simply because they value always driving a current model without the full responsibilities of ownership.
In the end, the question always remains the same: How many real kilometers are you getting for your money? Anyone who seriously runs this calculation often begins to see their own mobility in a completely new light.
Have you ever done this calculation for your current car? And how would it look if you didn’t have to bear the heavy early kilometers all by yourself? If you’d like to find out, we’ll deliver the Tesla wherever you need it — simple, transparent, and without complications.
